Daum Gallery and Texas Ale Project want to Rock and Roll all night…and get arty everyday! They have teamed up to present Rocktoberfest on Friday the 13th in the Dallas Design District.
Daum Gallery, who brought you the sell-out Barbie in a Blender exhibit this summer, has decided to trade the pink for black and we are ready to rock it out with featured artists Amy Voss and Robert Ferndandez at our Rocktoberfest showcase. The event will kick off at Daum Gallery at 5pm and run until 8pm, when KISS will take the stage at Texas Ale Project. There is a $5.00 cover charge to see the concert, but the art show is free!
Texas Ale Project and Daum Gallery literally share a wall, so atendees will be able to move with ease back and forth between the two venues. Food Trucks will be on-site, and Texas Ale Project brews will be available at the gallery and in the tap room.
It is going to be a very exciting evening of art, music and a rocking good time!
About our Rocktoberfest Artists:
Amy Voss creates one-of-a-kind glass sculptures that incorporate the body of an acoustic guitar as canvas—a natural fit for her bold and expressive work. Many of Amy’s guitar sculptures have been acquired by private collectors, including entertainer Katy Perry, and renowned entertainment industry execs; as well as hotels and restaurants. We will be exhibiting over 15 of her glittering guitars, including her newest collecion, which are sure to excite and inspire.
Robert Fernandez is muti-award winning writer, producer and director that has been recognized for his work in all three branches of production internationally. His experience in animation spans over 30 years, and its only recently that, yearning for another means of creativity, he started creating works of art. His first endeavor was collage. Robert creates collaged works of pop icons and musicians that could easily be mistaken for oil paintings. Daum Gallery will be showcasing his newest rock-inspired works that include Elton John, Jimi Hendrix, and the Beatles.
Guest Artist Bob Suffolk: We are also pleased to share with you new works by Bob Suffolk. Suffolk has designed roughly 200 studios over the years and has rubbed shoulders with everyone from Elton, to the Kinks, to David Bowie. We are excited to share with you new original artworks by Suffolk.
Other artists exhibiting include Taylor Daum, Katie Nixon, Lea Ellermeier, Jess tedder, Jabo, and more!
KISS (Rock and Roll Over): Out of 225 submissions from around the World, KISS named Rock and Roll Over as being among the top 4 tributes to them. These guys do not F*** around. Also named best KISS cover by D Magazine, they put on a show complete with fog, fire, theatrics, glam, killer vocals, and a flare that will blow you away.
