Deepa Koshaley Exhibit at Collin College: A Journey to Ancient Hymns

Displayed together for the first time, A Journey to Ancient Hymns presents an exposé of two bodies of work by celebrated Dallas artist Deepa Koshaleycurated by Julie Shipp. Her collections Nature’s Essence and Ancient Hymns share themes of meditation, spirituality, and humanity’s relationship with our world. The exhibition A Journey to Ancient Hymns connects these past and present works and offers insight into her distinctive creative process.

With an element of spontaneity, Koshaley paints with both brushes and hands while meditative chants help focus her inspiration. She draws from the visual, auditory, and tactile senses to create abstract imagery.

In her following series, Ancient Hymns, Koshaley expands her meditative introspection of spirituality and beauty. She uses symbolic and iconographic imagery to depict a theoretical interpretation of nature, music, and her spiritual heritage based on traditional Hindu scripture. Each unique composition offers viewers an inspirational companion for their meditation and contemplation.

This exhibit, a voyage exploring Koshaley’s past and present creations, will offer artwork previously inaccessible to the public.
