Oil and Cotton instructors Jay Bailey & June Covington welcome you to Oil and Cotton’s Open Studio this Saturday June 18th @ 6 – 8 pm. Jay Bailey makes paintings and drawings which focus on memory and fragmentation. The images he makes are records and meditations of people and places, forms and whispers. June Covington is an art educator who embraces the intersection of science, history, and art. Through traditional craft methods, she makes art which is a personal exploration of patterns in nature. This woven series is based on observation of changing weather and clouds. Materials: Cotton, wool, silk, and linen yarn, found objects, indigo and other natural dyes |
