Lowrider: Cultura & Art Show, an exhibition honoring the diversity of Latin cultures, will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at Artes de la Rosa Cultural Center at the Historic Rose Marine Theater. Lowrider: Cultura & Art Show is presented to the community in partnership with Artes de la Rosa andshow curator Sarah Ayala with help from the United Lowrider Council of Fort Worth. Attendees will view lowrider bicycles and pedal cars on display alongside work from regional and national visual artists, from Fort Worth to Los Angeles, ranging in mediums from paintings to photography. The opening reception will include music, food, refreshments, and a ballet folklorico performance. All proceeds of the evening will benefit the Artes de la Rosa organization and the community it serves, including fine arts programming for youth in the area and a theater restoration campaign. By honoring the perspective of Latin artists and the lowrider community within the walls of the Rose Marine Theater built in the 1920’s, we can reimagine a new creative path for the future of the youth in Fort Worth. Admission to the opening reception is free. The festivities begin at 7:00pm until. 9:00pm. Lowrider: Cultura & Art Show will be on view through January 22, 2022, Tue-Fri 11am-5pm |
