 Register | Scholars and researchers continue to demonstrate that we all carry implicit biases involving social identities. This unconscious bias can work against an organization’s goals, affecting everything from hiring and admissions decisions to how staff works with clients, patients, the larger community, and each other. This workshop addresses how we can recognize and use this knowledge to challenge implicit bias in all our decisions. |
| New Stories, New Futures Edition of Boxed Lunch Interview Series Every Monday 12 p.m. On the Arts Center’s Facebook page This series of conversations and lunches feature the artists of New Stories: New Futures, a public art event taking place at Will Rogers Memorial Center August 20-21. August 2 Jin-Ya Huang is the founder of Break Bread, Break Borders, a program at the intersection of community advocacy, food, culture, and storytelling where refugee women are economically empowered by cooking for a living. August 9 Raul Rodriguez is a photographer, artist, curator, and educator from Fort Worth, Texas investigating communities and cultures like skateboarding, boxing, and Lucha Libre, as well as social justice topics linked to the Latino identity. August 16 Fort Worth Public Art is celebrating its 20th anniversary and Martha Peters, the Arts Council’s Director of Public Art has been instrumental in its development and success.  | The FW Fringe is an annual Fringe Festival co-produced by Texas Nonprofit Theatres and the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Featuring a variety of different acts ranging from rarely produced theatre, dance, storytelling, puppetry, poetry, and more; the FW Fringe welcomes performers from all over the state of Texas and beyond.
