2020 would have marked the 27th Anniversary of the WLT’s Agents & Editors Conference – an annual extravaganza that brings together 400+ writers and industry professionals every June for a weekend of networking, panels, and presentations focused on the traditional publishing process. All indoors at a lovely venue in Austin, TX. All of it not very conducive to social distancing. All of it too up close and personal for a pandemic. The event was in the planning stages for months before we decided to cancel it out of health and safety concerns and the belief that we couldn’t guarantee it wouldn’t do more harm than good.
That was then… this is now.
Now we are itching to gather as many writers together, virtually, as we can. Now we want to focus on the writerly stuff that we have a feeling you’d love to focus on, too (especially because it involves socializing with people we don’t live with). Now we want to play games & host genre meetups & hear from interesting speakers & listen to writers talk about writing & probably do some yoga while we’re at it.
Now we’re ready to UnConference. Won’t you join us?
(Did we mention it’s free? Did we mention that all writers and unwriters are welcome? Did we mention the more the merrier? Did we mention we really really want you to be there?)
Registrants can join us for the entire weekend or drop into sessions here and there. As long as you register ahead of the event (registration closes on Friday, June 26, at 4pm) you’ll receive detailed information on how to participate.
