The 82 watercolor and water media paintings that were accepted into the Southwestern Watercolor Society’s 56th Annual Member Exhibition are now on display at the Eisemann Center in Richardson.
All members and their families and friends are invited to the Awards Reception on Sunday, September 22, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. At the reception, there will be almost $6000 in cash awards. The SWS major awards include :
Best of Show $1500.00
Edgar A. Whitney $1000.00 (for transparent watercolor only)
1st Place $750.00
2nd Place $500.00
3rd Place $300.00 plus memorial awards for deceased members.
The exhibition will be open to the public through Saturday, September 28, at the Eisemann, located at 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson. The exhibition is in the Mezzanine Gallery and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, or any time during public events. Internationally recognized artist Vlad Yeliseyev will judge the show in advance of the awards reception. A total of 412 paintings were submitted in this year’s competition from 162 artists. Yeliseyev selected 82 to be accepted into the show. http://swswatercolor.org
