The Visual Art League of Lewisville will present the first free workshop
of 2019 on Saturday, April 20th at 1:00 in classroom #2 at the MCL Grand
Theater, 100 N. Charles Street, Lewisville.
The workshop will be presented by VAL member Murthy Mantha and it will
cover design and composition of landscape painting.
The workshop is free and open to the public, but due to size

Description
Apply design principles to compose landscape paintings using shape, value and color in watercolor medium, with focus on design
- Explore approaches for dividing the picture space
- Represent objects in to interesting shapes
- Assign values
- Placement of these shapes to compose a picture
- Paint from photographs
Lots of hands-on activities using paper and watercolor. The instructor will be working along as well as demonstrating these techniques. Fun for all ages. No prior expertise is needed.
