ArtsGoggle is Fort Worth’s premier festival of local arts. Attracting a crowd of 60,000+, ArtsGoggle offers live music, artistic displays of every kind, food, drink, and fun for everyone. Unlike any event in Fort Worth, it exclusively focuses on highlighting the work of local artists, musicians, and performers of all mediums and experience levels. https://www.nearsouthsidefw.org/artsgoggle.html
ArtsGoggle started 17 years ago as the Near Southside’s own indoor gallery night and remained almost exclusively indoors for the first decade before spilling out onto the street. In 2018, in tribute to ArtsGoggle’s unique start, South Main Village businesses opened their doors in an all-day open house to show off the work of a wide array of local artists. A trolley was available to take visitors between Magnolia Avenue and South Main Village, stopping along the way at designated parking areas.
Continuing into 2019, the Gallery at Goggle feature expands the event to include more of the Near Southside and showcases fine art, music, experiential art, and unique programming inside each of the participating businesses ranging from breweries, bars and bakeries to creative firms, historic preservation projects and theaters. When registering, please indicate whether you would prefer to be an outdoor or indoor artist.
MAGNOLIA VILLAGE: Taking it to the Street
Artists wanting to participate
outdoors at the Magnolia Village street festival can request this
location on their ArtsGoggle Artist Application, and can even request a specific block.
All artists will be allotted a 10′ x 10′ space, unless a larger space
is requested. Artists must provide all their own supplies including
tent, tables and displays. We are able to provide a small amount of electricity to each booth to power booth lights and a small electronic device. Tents will line the center of Magnolia Avenue, placed side-by-side and back-to-back with power running between the tents for easy access. More details are provided online in the artist application.
SOUTH MAIN VILLAGE: Gallery at Goggle
South Main Village businesses will open their doors for an all-day open house to show off the work of a wide array of local artists that would prefer to be indoors. Fine art, music, experiential art, and unique programming will be located inside each of the participating businesses. Please indicate in the registration process if there is a business you have already agreed to partner with. |
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS |
Artists are defined as visual artists working in studio arts. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, weavers, printmakers, sculptors, potters, jewelers, illustrators, and artists of all mediums may now register online!
TO GET STARTED Visit the ArtsGoggle Registration Page and create a login and password for our new registration system. If you’re a returning artist, you should use the same email you have used in previous years, but you will need to create a new password.
STEP 1
Purchase the ArtsGoggle Artist Application using our safe online payment system.
PLEASE NOTE – Registration fees are going up for ArtsGoggle this year. Registration is now $90 PER ARTIST. This is a non-refundable application fee and is the only fee to participate in ArtsGoggle.
Art students and children may request a discounted participation rate of $45. To qualify for this discounted rate, please email [email protected] with details about the age, schooling, and professional experience of the artist. If we are able to verify that the artist is a student or child, a promo code will be offered via email to discount your application rate.
Why are registration fees increasing? Each year as ArtsGoggle grows, so do the operating costs of the event. ArtsGoggle has grown from 62 artists in 2013 to hosting more than 1,000 artists across more than 18 blocks and two miles of street closed to traffic in 2018. In order to keep up with the infrastructure demands of producing a high-quality event, your $90 application and participation fee provides vital funding to support festival infrastructure, adequate security, communications, event promotions, signage, and more. Last year, generators alone cost over $30,000 and the total ArtsGoggle production expenses now exceed $120,000. As a small non-profit, this is a significant cost to our organization. Your registration fee makes this day possible.
STEP 2 Fill out your ArtsGoggle Artist Application questionnaire. Now that you have purchased the application, it will always be accessible to you from your user portal. You’ll be able to return to your ArtsGoggle Artist Application at your convenience to finalize the details of your ArtsGoggle participation. This includes the ability to request a specific block placement and request to be placed near another participating artist. You can also return to update your work sample photos, artist statement, and other information printed in the official ArtsGoggle Program.
ALL APPLICATION INFORMATION MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO AUGUST 2, 2019. Artists who do not complete their application prior to August 2 will forfeit their position at ArtsGoggle with no refund.
