There is a one-of-a-kind community art project happening in Denton involving The Art Room, a nonprofit visual arts studio committed to therapeutic artistic expression for individuals with mental health struggles. The project “Welcome Home” is being installed and revealed at the Linda McNatt Animal Shelter in conjunction with North Texas Giving Day, a Dallas-Fort Worth area 18-hour online giving blitz, designed to promote philanthropy for worthy causes.
The unique piece is made up of 1500 individual artist trading cards created by volunteer local artists which are combined together to create a 4’ x 8’ artwork with over 31 individual colors.
Every year, The Art Room partners with local nonprofits who share their belief that art can provide essential healing to those who have experienced emotional distress. The main purpose of this project is to celebrate the joy and support that our furry companions bring to our lives. Not only are they loyal and caring, but they can also offer plenty of inspiration for creativity.
