Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery at the University of Dallas presents the exhibition:

It Takes a Village: Daniela María Ferreira Cabeza-Vanegas, Mikey Hernandez, Breanne Schwarz, and Victoria Morales Walters

May 12th  – September 7th, 2023

It Takes a Village features the artwork of current MFA students at the University of Dallas. Daniela María Ferreira Cabeza-Vanegas, Mikey Hernandez, Breanne Schwarz, and Victoria Morales Walters present recent paintings, ceramics, and sculptures that create a positive and stimulating space for reflection, diversion, and a call to look closer at the world.

Each artist possesses a distinct visual signature, something in the essence of their art that makes them distinguishable and unique from one another, but they all work to speak about the human experience through imagination and contemplation. They are a community, a village, and they support one another in the communication of their individual experiences and ultimately, their beings themselves, united by their generous intention to express their internal worlds to the viewer.

The exhibition is curated by students in Spring, 2023 Gallery Practicum Class: Alexa Hassell, Grace Kendall, Anna Tiller, Isaac Martin, Camilla Martinez, Isaac Martin, and Tamaki Nakahara

The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are by appointment during the summer. Email [email protected] to schedule an appointment.
