You are Invited to a Special Showing of the Artwork
of Guest Artist, Glen Ayers.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays
11:00 till 6:00
Glen Ayers will be exhibiting his mixed media collages at Rail Station through March and maybe beyond. These amazing works are like nothing you’ve ever seen.
Within the confines of 14” x 11” frames, Glen assembles mixed media watercolor and acrylic paint along with an incredible array of found objects. The combination is arranged in classic compositions that make vivid statements. Some are whimsical, some patriotic, some profound and all of them just plain fun.
In one assembly, there might be postage stamps. Another, images and graphics from publications. Others might have packaging elements and hat pins. All combine to make a statement or portray a theme.
Glen has a rich background and has lived a dramatic life. He served as a Marine in Viet Nam and found ways to fulfill his drive to create and paint under life-threatening conditions. He studied art before and after Viet Nam and earned a living for years working as a graphic artist…where his classic composition and design skills were sharpened and are now applied to fine art.
For more than ten years Glen exhibited and sold his art in leading galleries in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here’s his quote published in the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper art review: “I see nothing, but I feel everything.” His art is truly an intellectual expression that’s filled with emotions from a vigorously lived life.
Other roles included teaching in the Plano school system. He was an early participant in the founding of the Irving Art Center and previously served as president of Plano Art Association.
Come by Rail Station and enjoy discovering the highly imaginative and creative art of Glen Ayers. You will not be disappointed.
