Plano Art Association’s 125 Show 2022 is now open to all artists living within 125 miles of Plano. Judges will select the top 80 works for inclusion in the show. Categories for Awards• 2-D Artwork (Two-DimensionalArtworks, OBJECTIVE)• 2-D Artwork (Two-Dimensional Artworks, NON-OBJECTIVE)• 3-D Artworks (Three-Dimensional Artworks)• Photography (Traditional & Digital) CLICK HERE FOR CALL FOR ENTRIES Awards The 2-D Objective, 2-D Non-Objective, 3-D, and Photography categories will each be awarded a first place ($500), second place ($300), and third place ($150) award and a certificate. Best of Show will receive a $1,000 prize and a certificate. Certificates of Merit ($50 each) will also be given to three finalists in each art genre category. The entry fee is $40.00, which includes the 1st entry. The cost of the 2nd and 3rd entries (if any) is also $40.00 each. Someone will get back to you promptly. Jurors Bart Forbes is a renowned American painter and illustrator. He is currently painting commissioned work along with landscape paintings for sale in galleries. Marilyn Waligore is professor, Visual and Performing Arts / Photography, and directs the photography program at the University of Texas at Dallas. Marty Ray is Professor Emerita of Art from North Lake College teaching 50+ years including a year in Tokyo. Marty is co-founder of the White Rock Lake Artists’ Studio Tour and EAS. The Plano Art Association does not handle shipping or pay shipping expenses of works, sold or unsold, to be picked up after the show has officially ended. Please contact PAA at [email protected] if you cannot pick up your artwork yourself and need to arrange for someone else to pick it up for you. You must notify PAA in writing (an email is acceptable) to inform us to whom we should release the art. Shipment, delivery, or pick up of any work sold at or during the show will be the sole responsibility of the artist. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS This show is open to all artists living within a 125-mile radius of the city limits of Plano, Texas. ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS Four Categories• 2-D Artwork (Two-Dimensional Artworks, OBJECTIVE)• 2-D Artwork (Two-Dimensional Artworks, NON-OBJECTIVE)• 3-D Artworks (Three-Dimensional Artworks)• Photography (Traditional & Digital) Size Requirements Maximum dimensions of 3-D entries selected for the show must be able to fit through a standard doorway and the maximum weight is 200 pounds. Dimensions for 2-D must not exceed 54” in width (including frame). (Please contact PAA at [email protected] if you have an exception to discuss.) Hanging All wall-hanging works must be outfitted with D-rings, ready to hang. The gallery is unable to accept or hang works not so equipped; in other words, NO wire or saw tooth hangers will work. Each piece must be labeled with the name of the artist, title of the work, size, medium and price adhered to the back of the piece. Miscellaneous Submitted artwork must be original and not entered in a previous 125 Show. All work that is selected and hung in the show must remain in the exhibit until the exhibit ends and art is scheduled to be picked up. NO EXCEPTIONS. Works must not be copies of another artist’s work (including photographs). Because Eisemann Center is a family-friendly venue, we will not be accepting works that include nude figurative subject matter. PAA reserves the right to reject any work not meeting eligibility requirements or not deemed appropriate to hang in the gallery, even after the image has been accepted by jurors and delivered to the gallery.
