Irving Art Association presents a solo exhibit of work by member Jose Angel Hernandez in the small gallery of the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts in Irving. The exhibit will be on view May 1 – 27, 2022, and is part of the celebration of Hispanic heritage during the month of May. Gallery hours: Tuesdays 10:30-3:00, Wednesdays & Saturdays 1-4 pm. IAA will be observing Cinco de Mayo with an Artfest on Saturday, May 7 from 1-4 pm and the Hispanic-themed exhibits are part of the celebration.

About the exhibit and the artist:
Dallas-based artist Jose Angel Hernandez utilizes larger-than-life representational portrait paintings to recognize Latino women that have achieved outstanding accomplishments and/or have impactfully enriched the lives of US Hispanic people at large. A solo show during Irving Art Association’s Cinco de Mayo Artfest.
Jose Angel Hernandez was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Northeast. Graduated from high school in 1974 and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1990. He is a self-taught artist who started painting in the year 2000. He has built an art career and collector base while alternating his residence, a couple of times, between Los Angeles, CA and Dallas, TX where he has settled in. After twenty-plus years in the art scene, Jose is best known for his 3D Mixed Media Art.
