New Art Exhibition UNSPOKEN BURDENS

South Dallas Cultural Center’s Arthello Beck Gallery

Artist Jeremy Bigger, a South Dallas native, opens his solo exhibition  UNSPOKEN BURDENS with new work: a series of paintings and drawings that broach the conversation around male identity and social constructs. Dubbed “Dallas’ Hardest Working Multi-Hyphenate” by D Magazine, from drawing to painting to graphic design to photography to film making, Jeremy Biggers has been involved with image making his entire life.  He attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where he primarily focused on expression through graphite and charcoal drawing.

Juanita J Craft  House Artist Residency Inaugural Project

The Beauty of South Dallas by Nitashia Johnson

The inaugural Juanita J Craft House Artist Residency project by Nitashia Johnson launched February 11, 2021. A pilot project, this is the completed work by Nitashia, which features photography and video footage taken over a three month period. The focus was on South Dallas: the place and the people. The goal was to document South Dallas in its current state, and to highlight the people that live and work in the community.
