Fun and accessible small student class to explore several more modern presentations of watercolor that you can do easily. There will be discussion of composition, materials and painting techniques with one-on-one time with Jeni.
We will work together on two different paintings together to explore the painting styles including washes, glazing, negative space use, shadowing and color emphasis and de-emphasis. These techniques will be useful in both abstract or more realistic painting styles. There will be time also to work independently on personal work or continue on the group project during the days.
Jeni will be providing a small closed palette and paint for each student to use and to keep! You should bring brushes, but some will be available for class use as needed. Paper won’t be provided, so bring the watercolor paper you’d like to use. 4 sheets of 9×12 should be sufficient.
Bring a problem painting piece to get time with Jeni for a critique and problem-solving time.
Bring a sack lunch or order your meal from the square. A microwave and refrigerator are available for your use. Be sure to bring water or drink for yourself.
