KMB is looking for applications showing artists conceptual plans and preliminary designs in advance of fabrication and installation of the work of art to be located at traffic island formed by W. Wall St, W. Front St, and Williams St, in Southwest Midland, illustrated in the Location Map below.. Because of the nature of business conducted by KMB, use of natural products and materials is recommended.

University Health’s Salud-Arte: Art of Healing program seeks artists and artist teams to artfully enhance with original designs select locations/areas on twelve floors of the new Women’s & Children’s Hospital at University Health’s Medical Center campus. Designs will be printed on wall films, acrovyn, and/or other similar materials and be thoughtfully integrated within the architectural features of each floor. The building is set to open in early 2023. The commissioned artwork will thoughtfully respond to this unique context in a way consistent with the mission of University Health.

The New Vanguard: Explorations into the New Contemporary II – is an international juried competition open to all artists working in painting, printmaking, drawing, mixed media, digital, collage, sculpture, and photography.  We are looking for art that pushes the boundaries in a variety of genres including but not limited to: High Brow, Low Brow, Pop Surrealism, Hyperrealism, Graffiti Art, and Abstract Art.  Entrants must be 18 years or older.  Artwork created under the supervision of an instructor is not eligible.  Submitted work must have been executed in the last five years.

The Bernalillo County Arts Board solicits a call for artists to propose conceptual sketch ideas for outdoor sculpture to be located along highly visible avenues and boulevards within Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Regional artists residing in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and Texas are invited to propose conceptual mid-size sculptures. The project “Outposts” is conceived by the Bernalillo County Arts Board and evolved from an idea of combining the duality of the communities in the region to include the co-existence of mountains and valley, urban and the rural communities, the monsoon season and the dry season and ancient and modern cultures of the area. The scope of the project is to locate sculptures in each of the five Bernalillo County districts for a total of 25 sculptures by 25 artists. Phase I was completed in 2020. This call is for Phase II of the project for an additional five sculptures. The established budget for Phase II is $25,000.00 per sculpture.  


34th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition

The 34th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition will be juried by Robyn Phillips-Pendleton, curator and professor of Visual Communications, University of Delaware.

$3,000 is available for purchase awards. The awards will become part of the McNeese’s Works on Paper Permanent Collection.

Eligible for entry are works in any medium that is on or of paper. The artwork, including frame, should not exceed 40 inches in any dimension.

A non-refundable entry fee of $35 is charged each entrant. This fee entitles the artist a maximum of three entries. The deadline for entry is February 16, 2021.

The exhibition will be on view from March 25 through May 6, 2021 in the Grand Gallery, Shearman Fine Arts Annex, McNeese State University, Lake Charles, Louisiana.

A NATIONAL EXHIBITION

Now in its sixth year, the CAL National has grown into one of the premier shows in Texas in a very short time. Last year saw nearly 700 entries from 40 states. This year the 2021 CAL National is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts as a part of their Artistic Enrichment in American Communities (AEAC) program.

Categories include Painting, Drawing, Mixed Media and Photography with recognition in each category along with an overall Best of Show.

The month-long exhibition will also feature the creation of a collaborative mural on a free-standing canvas with internationally recognized Vickie McMillan Hayes leading a group of hands-on artists and non-artists.

 The exhibit will be taking place alongside other art events in Historic Downtown Conroe by member organizations of the Greater Conroe Arts Alliance who offeer literature, theatre, chorale, dance, jazz and other arts…

2021 Susan Beech Mid-Career Grant

The purpose of the 2021 Susan Beech Mid-Career Artist Grant is to recognize a mid-career artist with a substantial practice who has made a significant contribution to the field, as well as to provide resources for the development and implementation of a significant jewelry-related project that the artist would not otherwise have the means to undertake. The competition is open to makers between the ages of 35 and 55 at the time of the proposal deadline, who have an active and ongoing record of activity in the field.  The winner will receive a cash grant of $20,000, to be paid over the two years in which the project will be implemented.

17th Annual Sculpture Garden – Arts Council Wichita Falls

The Arts Council Wichita Falls’ year-long Sculpture Garden Exhibition at the Kemp Center for the Arts is in its 17th year. The juror will accept 10 pieces for exhibition. Artwork is exhibited for 12 months.  In addition to installation stipends, there are three cash prizes awarded by the juror/judge at the time of installation.

All forms of outdoor sculpture will be considered, provided it meets the prospectus.  The exhibit space surrounds a public building; artwork will be placed throughout the site at the sole discretion of the contracted installer and Arts Council staff.
