Raquel began drawing at the tender age of 5 years old. She had moxie and no fear, by sending a ‘Draw Me’ Mickey Mouse to the Chicago Art Institute. Raquel soon received a letter saying, ‘Your drawing of Mickey is great, contact us when you’re 18 years old.”
Later on in life, Raquel attended the University of Cincinnati, then transferred to Al Gabels Advertising Art School in Cincinnati Ohio. Returning to her hometown, Dallas Texas from Chicago, Raquel attended El Centro College majoring in Fashion and Pattern Design, worked in the Fashion Industry Designing Clothing, Drafting Patterns, Digitizing, Assistant to Designers, then moved on and created a company called ‘Fashion Design Services’ where she and her associates, created Evening Gowns, Stage Costumes, and Competition Costumes. It seems that Raquel has come full circle and is now where she started, Creating Interesting Photography, and Painting a diverse array of subjects, all of while raising two daughters. For the last few years, Raquel has volunteering at the President of the association.
