The Weatherford Art Association invites you to enter the annual Spirit of the West Competition held at the Doss Heritage & Cultural Center. This show will celebrate the heritage of the American West. Art should capture not only landscapes but the rugged independence and tenacious adventures of the majestic west and the individuals that made it what it was.
Artists should submit pictures of their work online to [email protected]. The judge will select the work to be submitted. Artists will be informed of their acceptance no later than September 10th. Please send registration and fees by August 28th to Cindi Neverdousky, 504 Queensway Rd., Willow Park, Tx 76087. This is an all media show, therefore, there is only one category. The show is open to all artists age 18 years or older. Delivery of art work will be September 24th and 26th with the show opening October 3rd through November 13th. There will be cash awards for each prize.
WAA is honored to have Jon Frembling, Gentling Curator of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. With 17 years of experience with the Amon Carter, he brings a wealth of knowledge regarding Western Art to this show.
