About the Program The Leadership Arts Institute (LAI) program provides training in leadership, nonprofit board best practices, and knowledge of current issues affecting cultural institutions in North Texas. Upon completion of the program, graduates can request to be individually matched to serve on nonprofit boards of directors.

LAI was founded in 1989 by businessman and philanthropist Ray Nasher to develop the next generation of business professionals who will lead the arts in their communities. The need for equipped, invested leaders is greater than ever with the current challenges facing arts and culture nonprofit organizations in North Texas.
