Afrik(HER), the second solo exhibition from Johnavich serves as an homage to the African diaspora and the connection to the motherland or mother Africa. As a follow up to Blacker the Berry exhibition featured at the African American Museum, this series is a stark contrast is style, fluidity, and size. Overall it is a continuation of Johnavich’s thematic portrayal of women pivotal to his life.
