Denton, TX — Thin Line Festival is gearing up for its twelfth year with the announcement of its music and film programming. The multidisciplinary event takes place in multiple venues across Denton from March 25-29, 2020, and will feature documentary screenings, live music performances, and photography exhibitions.
“Thin Line Fest is a unique combination of documentary film, music, and photography,” says Festival Founder Joshua Butler. “Over five days, these three art forms will intersect in ways that will open your mind and heighten your senses.”
Film. Presenting a handpicked collection of over 50 different documentary features and shorts, the festival’s film division will showcase all screenings at The Movie Tavern. Opening night will host the Welcome Ceremony screening, Born Into The Gig, a documentary that follows five musicians that happen to be the children of legendary musician parents. Chris Stills (son of Crosby Stills Nash member, Stephen Stills) and Kori Withers (daughter of singer, Bill Withers) will be in attendance for a Q&A and live performances following.
Music. The multi-genre music programming will feature artists from across Texas cities and beyond. There’s something for everyone, with acts spanning indie rock, country, Americana, hardcore punk rock, and hip hop. Check out the stacked lineup online. Venues include: Andy’s, Dan’s Silverleaf, Harvest House, J&J’s Ol’ Dirty Basement, LSA Burger, Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studio, and Sweetwater Grill & Tavern.
Photography. Attendees have the opportunity to view selected photographs from the international competition which will be exhibited at UNT On The Square and the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center. The exhibitions will feature contestants capturing six different themes: Photojournalism, Landscape, Nature, Lifestyle, Sports and Travel.
