Risland US Invites DFW Students to Participate in the “My Dream Home” Art Contest

Today, North Texas-based home developer and builder, Risland US, launches its first artwork contest to celebrate the grand opening of the model homes at their development, Legacy Gardens. In hopes of learning about a child’s depiction of a perfect home, the contest theme is “My Dream Home.”

“Our goal for this contest is to engage children and their families across DFW to help foster a passion for art, encourage curiosity and inspire creativity while drawing their concept of a dream home,” said Michael Hanschen, Senior Managing Director of Risland US.

Risland invites all elementary and middle school students from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to submit their dream home drawings, paintings and designs. The online submission portal is now open and will close on Saturday, March 14th. In addition to submitting a copy of the artwork online, the physical copy will need to be mailed to Risland by the March deadline.

Beginning March 15th, family and friends can go to Risland’s event page and vote for their favorite dream home artworks until April 1st. Participants will be divided into two age groups for voting.

All submitted artworks will be framed and displayed at the Legacy Gardens open house from March 23rd to April 4th. Once voting ends, Risland will announce the 18 artworks (nine from each age group) with the most votes as the winners.

In addition to having all of the dream home artworks on display in Legacy Gardens, an awards ceremony will take place at Risland’s model home at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 4th. Winners will receive certificates and Visa gift cards of up to $1,000.

The portal for submitting opened on February 14th and closes on March 14th. Artworks need to be mailed to 5600 Tennyson Parkway, Ste 230, Plano, TX 75024 or dropped off at Legacy Gardens Model Homes (1410 Beverly Dr, Prosper, TX 75078). For more information, visit rislandus.com.
