“Reflections of Gratitude” – TVAA Gallery Art Exhibition for November 2019

ELIGIBILITY: This show is open to TVAA members (and/or non-members).

This is an invitation to explore the meaning that connects with you and your artwork, and then share it with others.

This exhibition is open to members and non-members of TVAA (Texas Visual Artists Association) with ribbons being awarded to Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and Honorable Mention. Cash awards are given for Best in Show and 1st place!

All media are eligible. Sculpture must have its own base and stand.

Submission Deadline: Friday, October 18th
Acceptance Notification: Friday, October 25th
Deliver artwork: Saturday, November 2nd 10am-2pm
Exhibit Open to the Public: During Gallery business hours; Tuesday, November 5th-Saturday, November 29th
Reception: Saturday, November 9th 2-4pm
Pick up artwork: Saturday, November 30th 10am-2pm

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
“Reflections of Gratitude”

The season of Thanksgiving – a time of gathering with and appreciating family and friends. A time for expressing gratitude.

Gratitude is an art of painting an adversity into a lovely picture.

This call seeks to discover visual expressions and representations of gratitude. Art that embodies gratefulness you have felt in significant moments of your life and in the lives of those you hold dear.

CURATOR:
Andrea Lamarsaude is a primarily self-taught artist specializing in abstract and fluid art, mixed media and collage. She enjoys using a variety of mediums in her art; acrylics, oil pastels, alcohol and India inks, hand-painted papers, image transfers, mark making tools, and lots of love.

Andrea has over 25 years of global marketing communications experience. Through her Marketing for Artists consultancy, Andrea works with fellow artists to promote and market their art.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT:
My works visually tell captivating stories. My hope is that they encourage conversations and bring positive, creative energy into the world. Trusting my intuition and following my heart has been the best way to create not only my art, but also my life.

REQUIREMENTS:
All artwork must be wired correctly with D-rings. No ½” or ¾” canvases will be curated without a frame. Gallery wrapped work must have clean edges and no staples showing. Work that does not follow gallery requirements will not be hung. If invited to the exhibition you must sign up for one sitting day during the month or pay a $35.00 sitting fee for someone to cover your day. Any work not picked up on take down day with be stored for a $5.00 a day fee and then considered abandoned after 30 days. Any artwork sold pays a 25% fee to the TVAA. All artwork must be created within the last (3) years for eligibility.

Fees must be paid at the time of submission via the online form. $30.00 for up to 3 images for Members and $45.00 for up to 3 images for Non-Members. Please submit up to three entries (jpgs at 72 dpi and no longer than 1800 pixels on longest side). You must include your name, e-mail address, title of the piece, size, medium of the work, and the selling price. http://tvaa.org/calls-for-art/november-2019/

LIABILITY:
Entering this exhibition constitutes an agreement to release the Texas Visual Arts Association, the TVAA Gallery and the Plaza of the Americas from any liability for loss or damage to works of art in this exhibition. TVAA, the Gallery, or the Plaza of the Americas reserves the right to remove any work that is deemed objectionable for any reason.

PARKING:
For delivery and pick up, you can park in the garage for $1.50 for each twenty (20) minute interval (vouchers are provided for delivery or pick-up). Metered parking is available on Pearl and Crockett Streets. Parking in lots on Crockett and San Jacinto is $6.00. DO NOT park in the permit-only zones behind the building on Crockett Street. Full-day Gallery sitters may park free in the garage (entrance on San Jacinto – between Pearl and Crockett).
