In this artist talk, Ariel Bowman will share the influences, process, and concepts behind her solo exhibition Wondrous Creatures. Wonder is an emotion that drives scientific discovery and expands the human relationship to the natural world. The exhibition Wondrous Creatures explores wonder as an inspiration and a bridge between art and science through ceramic sculptures of prehistoric animals. The contrast between extinct animals and human history raises questions about our relationship to nature in the past, present, and future.
