Visual Art League of Lewisville Art Talks: Tina Alvarez on August 13

The Visual Art League of Lewisville presents Tina Alvarez as our August
speaker.  On Tuesday, August 13th from 7-9 in classroom 1 of the MCL
Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street, Lewisville, she will present her
program “ART IN THE DARK”.

She will lead a discussion about creating “black light” art for our
October Gallery Show at the MCL.

This will be a fun meeting as Tina shows us the difference between the
neon, “glow”, fluorescent and phosphorescent mediums.  You will have a
chance to play and make a “take home” creation.  (Please bring an old or
(failed) piece of art..11×14 or smaller. and some old brushes.

Tina Alvarez has been a member of VAL for over ten years and is best
known for her award winning photography.  However, she also loves to
explore many other mediums…alcohol inks, watercolor, acrylic, cold wax
and oil,  paintings on acetate, intuitive art, and creating “black
light” art.

A past professional speaker and teacher, Tina has led many different
workshops in the DFW area…at the Craft Guiild of Dallas, Dallas
Arboretum, A Creative Art Studio (Denton), Brandi’s Art Studio (Dallas)
senior centers and in home art parties.

This event is open to the public and there is no charge.
