(Dallas, TX, July 26th, 2019) –Dallas Design District gallery, Laura Rathe Fine Art, announces a solo exhibition with world-renowned artist, Hunt Slonem.LRFA will be hosting the Dallas reception on Saturday, September 7thfrom 5-8pm with an Artist Talk at 6:45pm. Wonderland will feature Slonem’s recentpaintings of his infamous bunnies, butterflies and birds. LRFA will also be introducing his newest “Bayou” series, paintings of southern waterscapes, as well as sculptural renditions of his iconic bunnies.
Slonem’s vibrant personality is not only apparent in his art, but in every aspect of his life. Wonderlandis a celebration of his colorful world and interest in all things exotic. His studio is filled with the antique furniture that he hand-selects from around the world, the squawks and sounds of his adopted birds (over 60 of them), and colorfully painted walls that serve as a backdrop for his iconic paintings. As a collector and restorer of historical homes, it is his passion to bring life back to estates that have been long forgotten over the years. He fills them with the art and antiques that bring joy to his own life.
These extraordinary paintings serve as a portal into the world of Hunt Slonem. The meditative qualities in Slonem’s work mimic his light-hearted and spiritual nature and through the use of his vivid colors and whimsical iconography, Slonem creates his very own Wonderland.
