MARY TOMÁS GALLERY welcomes the CREATIVE ARTS CENTER OF DALLAS  (CAC) 2019 Annual Juried Membership Exhibition and RADAR V. Opening reception, Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.

For the eighth year MARY TOMÁS GALLERY hosts the CREATIVE ARTS CENTER OF DALLAS (CAC) 2019 Annual Juried Membership Exhibition. Diverse talent abounds and is showcased in this highly competitive juried exhibition where jurors must narrow down a selection of 20+ exceptional works from over 180 entries. The works delight patrons looking for new discoveries that consist of emerging or seasoned artists, photographers, sculptors and craftsman that may include mixed media painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, mosaic, fused glass, sculpture and more.

The CAC is a dynamic arts organization that is celebrating its 53rd year in Dallasand offers over 500 classes and workshops in multiple artistic disciplines to a thriving arts community as well as new students. The jurors for 2019 are Liz Trosper, Ken Villalovos, and Mary Tomás. Liz Trosper is an artist, writer, curator and educator at UNT. Ken Villalovos is the publisher of ACTX Arts andCulture Texas MagazineMaryTomás is a contemporary painter, art consultant, community arts advocate and owner of MARY TOMÁS GALLERY.

Exhibiting concurrently with the CAC 2019 Annual Juried Membership Exhibition the gallery is pleased to present RADAR V. This unique exhibition gives the gallery patrons a chance to explore emerging artistic talent. Featured artists are Blake Boettcher – A State of Mind and Megan Ping – Don’t Tap. Collage artist Blake Boettcher describes his conceptual collage creations as a light in to the conscious and unconscious mind of the human experience. Megan Ping explores the undertones of fantasy and sexuality within the sport of wrestling through her semi realistic paintings and figurative cutouts. All exhibitions run through Saturday, August 24, 2019.
