July 12th: Assignments and Beer 6PM-8PM @ The Cedars Union $18 for Public, BYOB This program introduces a two hour art assignment with guidelines, prompts and materials designed for all levels of artistic experience. Whether it ends up on the wall or in the trash, we promise we won’t say our three-year-old could do it. Must be 21 and up to attend. |
July 16th: Building An Art Collection 6PM-7:30PM @ The Cedars Union Pay What You Can Learn how to build an art collection at any budget. Collection advisor Temple Shipley will guide listeners through the process of buying original artwork, visiting artist studios, and navigating sticker shock. |
July 18th: Look Club at Fair Park 6PM-8PM @ The Cedars Union Free with Registration Flex your art muscles with this monthly observational drawing event. Held at different locations and focusing on different subjects, this casual meet-up invites artists to get together and casually draw. July’s location will be at Fair Park’s Esplanade focusing on art deco sculpture. Please register to attend. |
July 23rd and 30th: Papermaking and Pulp Casting Workshop 6PM-9PM @ The Cedars Union $90 for public, $45 for CU Member Artists. This two-part series will instruct how to make paper from abaca fiber and cast the paper onto letters, leaving each participant with a tactile and dimensional verbal message. This is a great opportunity to learn more about handmade paper and the power of text in art, inspired and lead by fiber artist Delaney Smith. Cost includes both sessions. Spaces limited. |
