It’s time to start getting your entries together for the 2019 Southwestern Watercolor Society Membership Exhibition! The call for entries for the 56th Annual Membership Exhibition officially opens Wednesday, May 1, 2019! Cash prizes totaling $8,000 will be awarded.
The CaFE call for entries and prospectus goes live on Wednesday, May 1. The entry deadline is midnight, Sunday, June 30. You must be a SWS member in good standing with dues paid as of June 30 to qualify for the exhibition. To join or renew, go to our dues page at https://www.swswatercolor.org/join/pay-dues.
SWS uses the CaFE system for all entries. Here’s what you need to know to enter via the CaFE website:
Set up a profile on the CaFE website (if you don’t already have one) and become familiar with how to submit your paintings. https://callforentry.org
Review the information posted on the SWS website regarding how to set up a profile, how to prepare your images for uploading, how to upload to CaFE and how to enter. Go to www.SWSWatercolor.org and go to the tab at the top entitled, “Exhibitions.” Click the down arrow and you will see a listing for, “Aids to Entering our Member Exhibition.” This is a wonderful resource. Entry Fee: $45 for up to three paintings.
All work must be painted after January 1, 2016 (strictly enforced), original water media on paper or Yupo. Accepted water media include watercolors, acrylics, inks, gouache, casein, egg tempera, watercolor pencils, and watercolor crayons. For complete requirements, see the prospectus.
