Ruben Contreras will be teaching techniques on how to turn a pet, wildlife and or face portrait into a 3D or more realistic form by using proper use of tonal values, texture, and design with charcoal or graphite pencils. This workshop is designed for those who already know how to draw but would love to learn how to give their drawings the WOW factor.
Supplies: Mixed media white paper or any tonal paper 18″ x 24″ or larger,
charcoal pencils in hard, medium and soft or b4, b6 b8 pencils,
kneaded eraser, synthetic eraser (Mono Zero eraser if possible)
white pastel pencil, or Prisma white colored pencil,
paper towels, and pencil sharpener
Bring your own black and white reference picture, enlarged as much as possible.
