Irma Murray has always been captivated by color. Spending countless hours drawing as a child, she found that there were never quite enough crayons in the box. Sometimes you just had to create colors all your own, and so her journey as an artist began.
Irma earned a degree in Commercial Art. She worked part-time as a graphic artist and photo re-toucher during the more than 20 years she spent living in Michigan while raising her family. After relocating to Texas in 2009, Irma was able to find a little more time in her life to pursue her art once again. Having previously worked exclusively in watercolor, she was introduced to colored pencil in 2009 and was immediately hooked. They allow her the ability to lay down multiple layers of color and achieve the fine detail she loves to create in her work. Her art-work has been juried into numerous regional, national and international exhibitions.
