The Irving Art Association offers free basic art classes for adults to get you started in art or in a new medium.
The Free Basics Classes follow a progressive sequence where you will learn basic skills via instructor demo/lecture — exercise —-practice. The series is designed for beginners of a particular art medium. Expect traditional as well as new and nontraditional materials and approaches.
Registration is now open for the Winter 2019 classes. WE NOW HAVE TWO CLASS SERIES EACH MONTH! Plus many new art media for you to explore!
Each student is strongly encouraged to sign up for, and attend all four classes as each class topic and activity will be based on information from the preceding class. Registration is limited to 15 students per class, so please be sure that you can commit for the entire month of classes.
Held on Thursday evenings from 7 – 9 pm at Jaycee Park Center for the Arts in Irving. Doors open 6:30 pm to allow artists time to get set up and be prepared for class.
Supplies: Basic supplies are provided. Please bring any extra supplies you wish to try out (paint, brushes, paper, etc.). Wear old clothes or bring an apron.
Contact: [email protected] if you have questions.
