What do you do when your glass art meets up with the shipping company and turns into a bunch of different pieces? Cry? Scream? Instead, let’s get creative with a little bit of lead, solder, and copper foil to turn it into beautiful Yard Art! Join us as we take broken glass, glass globs, copper wire and anything else we can think of and make bright lovely garden art for your outdoor areas. No experience is necessary to participate in this class.
Your creation will be smaller than the one pictured in the example and will contain different glass types. You will design your own but can use this piece for reference. Each participant’s creation will be unique to the creating artist. All materials will vary because they are sourced from recycled materials. Ages 17+. Closed-toed shoes and long pants required. Participants should bring a packed lunch.
About Jacqui Bush: This class will be led by Jacqui Bush of Stained Glass of McKinney. Jacqui took her first copper foil class in 1997 and hasn’t looked back. From flat glass to warm glass, and silver art clay to enamels, her classes and experimenting continue. In 2004, she could no longer resist the call of the glass and left her career in technology to open a studio. She has a contagious passion for glass in all its forms and loves to share it with others through teaching and demonstrating.
