As part of the 2018 Plano International Festival, Plano Art Association will stage an important art exhibit at Gallery@Courtyard through October 26. This will coincide with the 14th annual Plano International Festival on October 13 in downtown Plano.
The exhibit will primarily feature the work of Plano Art Association members, in addition to other artists from the North Texas area.  The theme of the show is “Global Reflections. Art, the Universal Language.”
“The fifty-plus works will indeed be a global reflection of the vision of this group of very talented artists,” stated Gene Dillard, president of Plano Art Association. “All artists naturally express their own world experience through their art, consciously or unconsciously. We are pleased to showcase our art on this exciting occasion during the international confluence of Plano.”

The subject matter and media selected for this exhibit is wide-ranging and varied, reflecting the diversity of the artists and their perspectives.

Entertainment will feature noted cellist Dace Sultanov. She is a native of Latvia and studied at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Central Music School in Moscow. She is a resident of Fort Worth and is highly noted in the local music community. “We are really fortunate to have her perform at this global-themed art exhibit,” said Dillard.

“The Plano International Festival is pleased to once again partner with Plano Art Association in this exciting exhibit,” stated Graciela Katzer, President of the Plano International Festival. “This is our 12th year collaborating with PAA, and we are so proud to help them shine a spotlight on the artistic talent of their members. I hope everyone will come out and see this beautiful exhibit!”
A special reception will be held on Thursday, September 27, at  Gallery@Courtyard from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The public is invited. In addition to the great art to be viewed, there will be live music and tasty

A special highlight of the reception is the People’s Choice Awards, where all guests can name their favorite artworks in the show with awards presented at the end of the evening.
“Everyone really looks forward to the People’s Choice Awards,” stated Linda McCarley, Vice President of Plano Art Association. “It really engages our guests and encourages them to look closely at all the artwork. They can even talk to the artists, so it’s a fun, interactive evening all around.”
Hours of the exhibit at Gallery@Courtyard are Monday through Friday,
10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The address is 1509 Avenue H, Plano, TX 75074
